JUNE 29, 2017 -- Dayton Community Meeting - Noticeably missing were County Executive Kittleman and County Councilman Greg Fox both of which supported and campaigned to protect us from industrial mulch businesses moving onto our farmland and operating a M1/M2 business that is not from the farm or used on the farm but trucked off of the farm.
Both have actually now supported CB 60-2017 which opens the door to mulch manufacturing on farms defined as "tree farms" with no amendments that further define what a tree farm is and creates a loophole for industrial business owners like Bob Orndorff to find a way back into to using Ag Preserve farmland to support his mulch and tree clearing business.
It is likely not a coincidence that Bob Orndorff's RLO Contractors is clearing the trees from the road widening of 32. There has also been a high volume of truck activity on Bob Orndorff's otherwise quiet farmland he purchased a few years ago that he has had on the market for sale for over 2 years.
With only a few days notice, over 200 community members turned out for this very informative update on what's been going on with the mulch issue and why it is BACK!
